Special Projects
In addition to delivering Edinburgh’s annual Science Festival and a variety of education programmes in Scotland, we regularly take on additional special projects across the UK and internationally.
When working on these projects, we bring extensive expertise in creating and delivering interactive and entertaining educational experiences and provide content that is engaging and inspirational. We can also support partners with programme curation and event logistics and production, as well as providing Science Communication and event specific training for local staff.

Expo Dubai 2020
Edinburgh Science was selected as a content vendor for the Programme for People and Planet at Expo 2020 Dubai. We were extremely proud to take part in this 6 month long mega event, attracting over 24 million visitors. Our team led event content design, covering a range of topics and with a strong focus on global sustainable solutions.
Our team collaborated with Expo to bring the world together around the most critical challenges and opportunities faced by global society. We delivered content for 9 conference-style events, with a focus on topics such as climate, connectivity, sustainable development and space. We brought together more than 150 inspiring speakers and moderators from around the world, designing a range of creative on-stage formats and shaping thought-provoking conversations.
In support of these world-class speakers, we also supplied unique experiential activations and interactive audience experiences that brought event topics to life. Our events reached thousands of visitors, both in-person and online, fostering collaborations, building networks and sparking connections.
Through this project we furthered Edinburgh Science’s mission to inspire, encourage and challenge people to explore and understand the world around them. By connecting with global experts, leaders and changemakers we advanced our worldwide mission to ensure sustainable futures and build a better world.
