Special Projects
In addition to delivering Edinburgh’s annual Science Festival and a variety of education programmes in Scotland, we regularly take on additional special projects across the UK and internationally.
When working on these projects, we bring extensive expertise in creating and delivering interactive and entertaining educational experiences and provide content that is engaging and inspirational. We can also support partners with programme curation and event logistics and production, as well as providing Science Communication and event specific training for local staff.

Play On, Germany
Created for Science Festival 2017, Play On is a family-friendly interactive exhibition that enables visitors to get hands-on with the amazing ways technology influences our leisure time and showcases the science behind why we play, as well as the amazing new developments in how we do it. Over the Festival the exhibition took centre stage in the Grand Gallery of the National Museum of Scotland – which attracted over 145,000 visitors from 1-16 April – before embarking on a five-month tour to visit three science centres in Germany.
Play On was at Universum Science Centre in Bremen from 22 June–13 August, at Phaeno Science Centre in Wolfsburg from 17 August–17 September and at Phanomenta Science Centre in Flensburg from 21 September–2 November. We created the exhibition using a modular system of stands with information panels built around interactive content. For the German tour, we worked with our local partners to translate exhibit content for audiences in Germany and supplied the stands, content and instructions required for installation and delivery of the exhibition.
