Development Manager, Fundraising

£32,456 - £38,788 per annum/ Full-time, Permanent/

 

Each year Edinburgh Science delivers one of Europe’s largest science festivals, a primary school education programme across Scotland, a careers event for secondary school pupils and a variety of international programming activities and projects.  We believe in inspiring, encouraging and challenging people of all ages and backgrounds to explore and understand the world around them.

 

About the role:

This is an incredible opportunity to be part of an innovative international community with science and education at its heart. As part of our Development (Fundraising) team, you will seek out, identify and secure financial support from a range of sources including companies, trusts and individuals with a focus on developing giving circles across funding streams. You will also develop and strengthen relationships with existing funding partners, delivering the highest level of service.

 

About you:

You will be an enthusiastic fundraising professional with experience across a variety of income streams and able to demonstrate a proven track record in a relevant role within a fundraising environment.  Extensive knowledge of fundraising theory and practice is essential to meet challenging targets. You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to negotiate successfully. You will have experience of project managing fundraising activities and successful events and of managing your own prospects and budgets. Knowledge of a CRM is important, as is the ability to achieve results by managing a small team and working with other people. You will have a flexible, creative and collaborative approach, excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and multi task while working under pressure.
